Gone To The Dogs Ecommerce Store Opens Brick-and-Mortar Store | New

Gone To The Dogs, An Ecommerce Supplier Of Handcrafted And Eco-Friendly Pet Supplies, Celebrates The Grand Opening Of Its First Brick And Mortar Store In The Park Slope Neighborhood Of Brooklyn, NY

The company, founded by Santos Agustin and Jennifer Wong, was initially launched in 2020 as an online store offering an alternative to mass-produced dog accessories sold in large chains, company officials said.

Gone to the dogs harnesses the talents of artisans and manufacturers from Nepal to Cambodia and Peru to Harlem to create unique products, including handmade toys, dog clothes and leashes, officials added.

Each of the handcrafted items comes from recycled, reclaimed or renewable materials. The sales directly help artisans around the world create ethical pet toys with the kind of craftsmanship not available at major retailers, officials said. For those looking to find handicrafts that give back, these handmade woolen toys alone help support around 70 female-headed families in Kathmandu, Nepal.

“We don’t want just anyone to make our products,” Agustin said. “As a women-owned business with founders, we partner with a diverse group of women around the world, all of whom share one thing in common: the need to have the opportunity to tap into an independent income. “

Wong added, “We work with manufacturers from low-income and immigrant communities in our local areas of Brooklyn and New York at large, as well as with marginalized communities outside of the United States. “
