BROOKLYN, NY – With an increase in online ordering and support from a large parent company, it was time for Med Supply Depot to revamp and relaunch its e-commerce website, says Meir Tsinman, vice president, commerce electronic.
“We’re seeing a lot more older patients ordering online, so we wanted something clear and easy to understand,” he said. “It’s more tablet and mobile friendly, and easier to navigate.”
The new website currently offers 20 categories of durable medical equipment and disposable medical supplies, including incontinence, enteral and diabetes supplies, as well as over-the-counter medications. Along with enhanced product images and descriptions, the website offers additional payment options, like ApplePay, and an easy checkout process, Tsinman says.
This is the first website redesign since 2011 for Med Supply Depot, which Tsinman founded in 2005, sold to TwinMed in December 2018, and now operates under that company’s umbrella.
“We were looking for ways to take the business to the next level and the TwinMed opportunity was born out of a mutual connection,” Tsinman said. “There are so many opportunities within the company for talent and insight. We have been able to put in place an infrastructure that allows us to better serve our customers.
For TwinMed, which serves as a distributor for nursing, long-term care and dialysis facilities, Med Supply Depot offered a new retail channel. For Med Supply Depot, TwinMed offered an infrastructure that includes a dozen warehouses located across the country, a larger patient base, and a deeper product inventory, Tsinman says.
“We’ve definitely expanded our product offering over the past few years,” he said. “Now that we have a new site, we can access tens of thousands of products, and we will continue to update over the next year to a year and a half.”
