When I think of the Latinx community, family comes to mind. We are taught early on to care for each other and give back to our communities, supporting moms and pop stores that are run by Latin American immigrants. This thread that connects our vast community fuels our motivation to create a better life for our families, and in return, we move forward. In 2020, Hispanic purchasing power is $ 1.9 trillion, according to the University of Georgia Multicultural Economy Report. Businesses sit on a gold mine, striving to tap into this nuanced demographics. But very few approach it with care and authenticity. Brittany Chavez, founder of the e-commerce platform Latinx Shop, takes the reins and invests in his own community by creating an online directory for small businesses owned by Latinx.
